Why
Call Me Fat?
Some people in my school call me fat,
and some of the people are the same weight as me. A girl in my class
calls me that whenever I get an A on a test. Why?

We’re sorry that there is a girl who is being inconsiderate
of you. Unfortunately, some people forget to treat others as courteously
as they would like to be treated.
This
girl may eventually stop calling you fat if you ignore her when
she does that. If she doesn’t get a reaction from you, it
will no longer be fun to call you names.
You
might also ask her in a nice way why she calls you a name whenever
you get an A. Letting her know how you feel about the situation
might help her to think before speaking.
There
is also the possibility that she is saying, “Phat,”
meaning “Great!” which has been used as a positive
statement. You can probably tell from her facial expression and
tone of voice if she is commenting in a positive or negative way.
Be
sure to discuss the situation with your parents or your teacher.
They may be able to offer you some valuable insight as to other
ways you might react to this girl.
We
hope this helps. We’re also proud of you for getting so
many As. Keep up the good work! :-)
Best
wishes,
