Glasses
I don’t like my glasses. They’re
always breaking. Also, I’m only in second grade, so I can’t
get contacts! What should I do?

We
realize it must be difficult to wear glasses you don't like. It
must be hard, too, to have them break all the time.
We
suggest that you talk this over with your parents. Without complaining,
you can explain why you don’t like your glasses and that
you’re concerned because they break often. Your parents
may have some good ideas for you. For example, if you don’t
already do so, maybe you can make it a habit to always use a protective
case to keep your glasses in when you're not using them. This
might prevent them from breaking.
Eyeglasses
can be expensive, so we hope you’ll understand if your parents
can’t replace your glasses right away. As you mentioned,
you’re only in second grade, so it’s not likely that
you’ll get contacts soon. We know it’s hard, but you
may just have to be patient.
We
realize it’s a big responsibility to take care of eyeglasses.
We hope you’ll take the responsibility seriously. Not only
will your eyeglasses last longer, your parents will appreciate
your maturity and cooperation.
We
hope this helps.
Best
wishes,
