Interests
My friends like rap and other music that I don’t like.
I like country music and southern gospel, but I’m too embarrassed
to tell them. How can I get over being too shy?

Everyone has his or her own likes and dislikes. That applies to
music and many other things. You have every right to say what
kind of music you enjoy.
Just
as you can’t force others to like the same things you do,
you shouldn’t let others do that to you. It is understandable
that you would be shy if you expect disagreement or teasing, but
you’ll feel better about yourself if you are honest about
the types of music you like.
As
you grow older, you will learn to be strong in situations like
this.
