How to Make It:

  1. Cut “windows” from the sides of a square tissue box leaving about three-fourths of an inch on each edge.

  2. Turn the box so that the tissue opening is on the bottom. Cut a piece of felt to fit over what is now the top of the box and glue it on. Using scissors, make two holes in the top of the box, through the felt, and poke a chenille stick through them. Stick your hand in the box and bend the chenille-stick ends to secure them.

  3. Glue two small pompoms together to make each bug. Add wiggle eyes and a tiny pompom on one end to make a face. Crunch up a small piece of aluminum foil to make the “lighted” tail. Add felt wings.

  4. Tie a piece of thread around each bug and tape it to the roof of the box.

  5. From plastic wrap, cut four pieces to fit the windows, then glue them to the edges inside the box. The easiest way to do this is to use a glue stick or a cotton swab dipped in glue.
