Fold
a bow tie from a dollar bill or
any 6-inch-by-2 1/2-inch piece of decorative paper.
1.Turn
the dollar facedown (or turn the paper to the side with
no design).
2.
Fold the dollar in half the long way, then unfold it.
3.
Fold the long edges in to meet at the center fold.

4. Bring the right side over to meet the left.

5.
Fold the two right corners forward to meet in the center.
Crease them hard, unfold them, then fold them to the back
in the same way.
6.
Unfold the corners again. Tuck them to the inside between
the long edges of the bill, as shown.
7.
Fold the top left end of the bill over to the right along
the dotted line shown in the drawing below. Turn the bill
over and repeat with the other side to make the ends of
the bill meet. The folded end of the bill should now be
on your left.
8.
Now you have two “layers” of the bill. Fold
the two left corners on the top layer forward to meet
in the center, leaving the corners on the underneath layer
unfolded. Then turn the bill over and repeat with the
two corners on the other layer.
9.
Gently separate the ends of the bill, pulling them to
opposite sides and squashing in the center of the bow
tie as you do so.
