What You’ll Need:
- saw
- wooden dowel
- glue
- spring-type clothespin
- acrylic paints
- plastic cup
- scissors
- felt
- wiggle eyes
- small rocks
- foil
- index card
How to Make It:
-
With an adults help, saw an angle at one end of a 13-inch-long, half-inch-thick wooden dowel.
-
Glue a spring-type clothespin on the angled end, with the clip part down. Let it dry.
-
Use acrylic paints to paint the dowel, the clothespin, and a large plastic cup. Cut giraffe ears and spots from felt, and glue them on. Add wiggle eyes.
-
Place the dowel in the cup. Holding the dowel upright in one hand, fill the cup with small rocks. Leave an inch of space at the top.
-
To hold the rocks in place, cut a large piece of foil, mold it into a circle, and press it on top of the rocks around the dowel.
-
Glue the circle of felt on top of the foil. Add spots.
