  • dry pine needles
  • felt
  • buttons

How to Make It:

  1. Fold a piece of fabric so that the patterned sides face each other. Draw a simple 5-inch-long mouse shape on it.

  2. Craft ImageKeeping the fabric folded, cut out the shape. You’ll have two mouse shapes.

  3. With the patterned sides facing each other, sew the edges of the mouse shapes together, using a running stitch. (See diagram.) Leave a 1-inch opening.

  4. Turn the mouse patterned-side out (through the opening).

  5. Stuff the mouse with dry pine needles, then sew the opening closed.

  6. Sew on felt ears, button eyes, and a piece of twine for a tail.

  7. Use the mouse to scent a drawer or a bookbag.
