  • scissors
  • red construction paper
  • pencil
  • white bond paper
  • crayons or colored pencils
  • glue

How to Make It:

  1. Cut a heart from red construction paper.

  2. Draw a flower with six petals on white bond paper, and cut it out. Use crayons or colored pencils to decorate the petals and to write a secret message in the center. Fold each petal inward, covering the message.

  3. Craft ImageTurn the flower over, add a few dots of glue, and press it onto the heart.

  4. On the back, write “Float this heart in water, and watch a message bloom.” When the heart is placed in a bowl of water, the petals will slowly open and your message will be revealed.
