How to Make It:

  1. Place a paper lunch bag seam-side down. Starting at the top, draw seven 1-inch horizontal stripes. Color the stripes with markers.

  2. Open the bag. Fill it with crumpled paper to the bottom stripe. Close the bag and put tape on each side near the bottom stripe.

  3. Starting at the top, fold the bag into accordion pleats, stripe by stripe. Place your finger in the middle of the pleats. Bring up the ends of the top pleat so that they meet in the middle. Tape them together.

  4. From paper, cut out a wattle and two head-and-neck shapes. Glue them together with the wattle between them, leaving the last quarter-inch of the neck unglued. Draw eyes with a marker.

  5. Fold back the unglued parts of the neck to form tabs. Put glue on the tabs and glue the head-and-neck section to the body.

  6. If you wish, make turkeys for everyone at the table. Write people’s names on their turkeys.
