Walnut-Shell Bugs

What You’ll Need:

• pencil
• walnut shell
• paper
• scissors
• marker
• felt
• poster paint
• glue
• wiggle eyes
• 1-inch pompom
• 1/4 inch pompom

How to Make It:

1. Trace a walnut shell onto a piece of paper. Add six legs to the shape, and cut out the pattern. Trace around the pattern onto a piece of felt, and cut it out.

2. Paint the walnut shell with a few coats of poster paint.

3. Glue the shell on top of the felt legs.

4. To make the head, glue plastic wiggle eyes or cut-paper eyes onto a 1-inch pompom. Glue on a quarter-inch pompom for a nose, then add two antennae cut from felt.

5. Glue the head to the front of the walnut shell.
