A
(n)ice view
|
Dear Friend,
The
view from the Ob Tube is more beautiful than I imagined!
The underside of the ice surprises me. It is like an upside-down
hilly landscape, and the sunlight that filters through
the ice and algae gives it a bluish-greenish color. I
see sea stars and sea sponges on the ocean floor, and
many jellyfish drift slowly past the windows. I hear seals
all around me, and finally I see one off in the murky
distance. Climbing into and out of the tube and sitting
in the cramped observation area are sort of uncomfortable,
but the view is definitely worth it.
Your
friend,
Bob
