"I'm afraid I'll miss trick-or-treating!"Little Ghost didn’t want to take a nap. His friend Witch tried and tried to get him to sleep.

“I’m afraid I’ll miss trick-or-treating!” said Little Ghost.

“Don’t worry,” said Witch. “I’ll wake you up in time.”

“Well, OK,” said Little Ghost. “But don’t forget!” He rolled himself into a small ball and went to sleep. He snored terribly, so Witch went back home to wait.

Little Ghost's NapAt last it was time for Halloween. Witch went to Little Ghost’s house and knocked at the door. Knock! Knock! Knock!

But Little Ghost just snored on.

Witch rang the doorbell. Ring! Ring! Ring!

But Little Ghost just snored on.

Witch walked in. She poked Little Ghost. Poke! Poke! Poke!

But Little Ghost just snored on!

Witch said, “Hocus-pocus!”

Her black cat yowled, “Meow, meow!”

The wind began to blow in the trees. Whooo! Whooo! Whooo!

Skeletons came and rattled their bones. Rattle! Rattle! Rattle!

But all this noise didn’t wake Little Ghost. He snored on and on and on!

“Oh dear,” said Witch. “I’m afraid I won’t be able to wake up my friend. He’ll be sad if he misses trick-or-treating.”

Little Ghost's Nap“Trick-or-treating!” exclaimed Little Ghost. “Why didn’t you say so?” Little Ghost stretched, shook himself, and flew away, with Witch flying right beside him!
