Ni hao! (Hello!)

I’m Carla Engelbrecht, one of the editors at HighlightsKids.com, and I’m writing to you from the faraway island of Taiwan. I’m so far away, in fact, that it’s tomorrow here! Add 13 hours to Eastern Standard Time and that’s what time it is in Taipei, where I am now.

My plane trip was long—14 hours from San Francisco, California. Phew! But it was worth it. I know I’m going to learn a lot of neat stuff about Taiwan, its people, its scenery, its history and its culture . . . and I’m excited to tell you about my experiences here by sending an electronic postcard whenever I can.
