Dear Friend,

My new friend

My new friend

I made a new friend today—a frog friend!

Our group trekked into Yangmingshan National Park, which is just outside of Taipei. Although we arrived in Taiwan a bit too late to see the spring flowers at their best, some plants and trees were still blooming in Yangmingshan.

In one field, we found a frog on the stem of a flower. While I was taking pictures of the frog, it jumped onto my camera! It sat there for a few minutes while we looked at its sticky frog feet, then it hopped off into the bushes.

After that, we headed to Mount Tatun, a volcano. Yes, a volcano! The mountains in the park are actually volcanoes. But don’t worry—the last eruption was 300,000 years ago.

The frog, the flowers, the view from the top of Mount Tatun . . . today was a great day.

Your friend,

Carla
