Cheating

Cheating
A girl who sits next to me always copies off my papers. I asked her to stop, and she said, "I'm not doing anything." What should I do?

You might talk to your teacher at a time when the girl and other students are not around. Let your teacher know what you suspect the girl is doing. In a very respectful and calm voice, explain why you think this is happening. You might ask the teacher to keep an eye on this girl the next time the class has a written assignment.

You might also talk to your mom or dad. One of your parents may have some good suggestions for you.

It may not be a good idea to accuse the girl in a confrontational manner. When you directly confront this person, it is your word against hers. Unfortunately, someone who cheats by copying may not be truthful in words either. The situation might become a bigger problem if you get into an argument with this person.

We hope this helps.

Best wishes,
