Remembering Special Events

Remembering Special Events
I always get Bs for social studies because I can't remember dates of special events!

It's good that you're asking for help. Remembering dates can be difficult, but we believe you can do it if you put your mind to it.

Some people find it helpful to make up rhymes about information they need to remember. You've probably already heard the one "In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue." Perhaps if you try to make up some rhymes, it will help you remember dates for your social studies class. Many people also find it easier to memorize information if they write it down several times.

We suggest that you talk with your parents and your social studies teacher, and ask them if they have any other tips for remembering dates of special events.

By the way, Bs are good grades! It's great that you want to improve, though, so you can do your personal best. Keep up the good work!

Best wishes,
