At a Passover seder, it is a tradition for the youngest child to ask four questions. The last one is “Why do we lean on pillows tonight during dinner?” In ancient times, only free people reclined while eating. Using Passover pillows reminds everyone of freedom’s gifts and the end of the Jews’ enslavement in ancient Egypt.
