sahr-me-EN-toe-SAWR-us, “Lizard from Sarmiento” (the town near where the fossils were found)

More than 60 different species of titanosaurs (a late group of large plant eaters) have been discovered in Argentina, but most of them included very little of the skull. Sarmientosaurus was found with a nearly complete skull. That gave scientists a better idea of what a titanosaur head was like.
