Why don’t people in Antarctica feel upside down?

When you look at a globe, it may seem as if north is “up” and south is “down.” But no matter where you go on Earth’s surface, “down” is toward the center of the planet. Gravity is always pulling your whole body and everything around you in the direction of Earth’s core.

Whether you are in Antarctica, at the equator, or anywhere else on Earth, if you’re upright with your feet on the ground, you feel (and you are) right-side up.
